My 7 year old daughter asked Santa for this for Christmas. She has one American girl doll and two other 18" dolls. She loves it. It was the easiest thing I've ever put together for her on Christmas night! Only 8 simple screws, but it went together easily. The directions don't tell you this, but you should put a dab of glue into each hole where the dowels go for added stability. I think that this toy is made well and is a good value for the price.
